About you: where you currently live, what has life been like since your days at UHHS/CHS?, what kind of job do you have?

Hi everyone, well after highschool our family moved to Scott AFB in Illinois. I lived there for a year and a half and joined the airforce. I enlisted for 6 years. I used to order the parts for the B1-bomber. I met my husband the first day I got to the base. Dyess AFB. He was actually parachuting out of the plane I was watching. He was an airforce combat controller.After our time was up we got out and moved to Boston where his family was from. His job was too dangerous to do with a family. He spent some time in panama chasing Noreiga.Then 6 of his friends were killed in a plane crash and another friend died repelling out of a helicopter.Alot of people don't know about AirForce combat controllers so if you have time you should check it out. OUr first daughter meghan was born in 86, sarah was born in 88 katie was born in 91 and kenny came along in 98.All this time I was a floral designer, I had my own shop. I decided to quit that last year and spend some time with kenny. meghan has graduated college this year, sarah is a junior at manhattan College in New york, katie is a senior in High School and is one of their star athletes. She broke all the school softball records this year.WE travel like crazy with her Junior olympic team.WE will find out what college she will be recruited for by september. WE are so happy about this as her sisters have cost us an arm and a leg for college.Thank goodness we have time between katie and kenny. Ken owns an engineering company and has worked there for 20 years. he works a ton of hours and travels alot.
My brother kevin lives in San Antonio with his wife christine and kids. My sister alison lives in Dallas and my little bro danny lives close by us here in mass. My parents live in virginia and have retired. Life has been full of excitement and fun. I enjoyed having a large family as it has kept me busy over the years. I have coached softball, been a brownie leader, volunteer, ok wait, I sound to goody goody, i can still raise hell and love to party. I remember high school and all the great friends I had there. It is awesome to see so many familiar faces on here and to read up on everyones lives. So glad I found this site and I can't wait until the reunion in SC. see everyone there

I was working on going, but life took a hit and my husband became one of the large % of unemployed citizens. Sooooo, with finances taking a hit, I'll be passing on this get together. Send pictures and have a blast. Represent the class of 82 for both of us.

I haven't been on the site much lately as it's BBall season and my youngest plays twice a week, and work, and keeping the 17 year old in check. I found a few people over the new year, but I'm sure there is more of us to find. You have been a busy girl raising a great looking family. Brendan is trying to figure out what he wants to do. He's been in touch with some colleges out of state and is looking hard my alma mata Boise State University. It all boils down to who will offer him what. He is a straight A student, Eagle Scout, and athlete. Then there is Colby my 13 year old fire cracker. He is intereted in everything. He and I went up the mountains last weekend for the Boy Scout winter Jamboree. Our boys took 1st place in the dog sled race and 2nd place overall. There was close to 750 scouts up there it was awesome. Todd retired 3 years ago from the Air Guard and ended with 23 years military service. His job, at the moment is hanging by a thread, so we are staying positive and hoping all works out. The company is making everyone take four weeks off, paid if you have vacation time, or unpaid if you don't have any time saved up. I was really hoping to get to the reunion, but it all depends on what life deals us. Stay in touch and Todd's bar is always open. Sue

The consulting stuff has me so tied up right now since this office has sites in 5 other states. Writing policies for multi state is challenging! The HR consulting work has kept me real busy lately. Been preparing some employee handbooks for a large govt contractor. Will be traveling a bit in the Fall to train the managers they have in various states on whats in the handbook and make sure the office are compliant. Have also been heping out a friend who has a fragrance and cosmetic store. Her husband had a heart attack and died, so I've been handling the business part of it for her and showing her the ropes as all she knew how to handle was selling in the shop. My parents have been hit with cancer and are recovering well, so it's been good that I moved down to FL from VA to help them out. Trying to get a business started that sells wine, wine furniture and accessories. It'll also have a room to host wine tasting, board meetings, parties and such that will have menu and wine pairing for each course. The economy isn't the best right now so it'll have to wait a bit. I'm having fun learning and doing tons of research on vendors and such. Really, really looking forward to the reunion. I'm game to get up and cheer! Gotta scoot. more later. love ya...Maria

Thanks for those kind words. I must be getting onery in my mid years because nobody has called me gentle in quite some time. It looks like you and your family are doing great and I am having a hard time picking out you from your daughters. You were more artistic than most so the floral design business would be a good fit. However, it sounds like you married a guy that thinks from the opposite side of the brain - an engineer. I think all my family thinks from the other side of the brain because I can't seem to understand them half the time. Good to hear from you, take care - Pat
