My recovery--a year later.

Hey everybody. Just wanted to let you all know how I am doing from my motorcycle crash. Everything is improving, but my memory still has some issues. I still can't feel my leg, but the walking is improving. I made one mistake that I feel stupid for. I lost a bunch of weight while I was in a coma (55 pounds or so) so I was down to a 33 or 34 inch waist. What did I do? Bought new jeans that are a 34 waist. Then I began eating food (not through a tube anymore) and I gained about 20 pounds back. The… Continue

Race For The Cure--Update

Hey everybody! If you read this site at all, you will know that I have been doing the Race For The Cure for 7 or 8 years. This year is even more special to me, because I just found out on Thursday that my dad has cancer. It is a cancer in a lymph node near his stomach. The growth has wrapped itself around his kidney and all the way up to his aorta. We already know that he has no cartiledge (?) in his spine and he is in a lot of pain. The docotors think they can manage it without surgery and only… Continue

Race for the Cure

I AM…raising money to cure breast cancer.
Did you know that one in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime? This fact has convinced me that I need to get involved and help in the fight to eradicate breast cancer.
I have recently accepted the challenge to raise funds for the 2008 Komen Denver Race for the Cure. Seventy-five percent (75%) of the funds I raise will be used for breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in the Denver community. Twenty-five per… Continue

Hey David,

Thanks for the heads up about the hotel, but I won't be going to the reunion. Sounds like fun -- I just can't make it. Have a blast!

It's good to hear that you came out ok. I always assumed I'd go into the military too. I went through all of High School thinking I was headed for the Air Force. Well, God had other plans I guess. My senior year of High School I took the entry tests and passed with good scores. But when I started the process to enter they denied me because of my asthma. It's never been severe at all, but it was enough for them to deny me. That totally sidetracked me. I had no intention nor desire for College, so I just drifted and was pretty disillusioned. That lead me into drinking and drugs for a couple of years after which I hit bottom pretty hard, nearly killed myself. As the old saying goes at that point the only place to look is up. I never really went to church and such growing up but that's where I headed next. I became a Christian and I decided to try Bible College to get far away from the places and people that I had been used to during those couple of years. From there I met my wife and turned into a computer geek.
It seems like so long ago that we were running around getting into trouble and having fun back in England. Out of my High School years I miss the time in England most, even though I didn't care for it at the time for some reason. I remember thinking we were missing out by being stuck in England. What a fool. Oh well, I guess old age changes your perspective on things! :)
That is kinda funny about you being a cop! I remember us being out at night running from the base cops thinking we were so cool! :)

Hey Dave! How's things? Jon Larson contacted me on Facebook a few weeks ago and then he sent me this site. What a trip seeing everyone from High School. I got one of my yearbooks out the other night. Some crazy memories came flooding back. I saw something about you being in a motorcycle accident. Hope all is well for you. Talk to you later.
