I hope everything is going well and that you are healthy. I hope your Mom is getting better and that your son is safe.
What did you think of the Steelers draft picks? I thought they did great as always.
Later on!
Larry
I hope you are feeling better by now. There is a lot of allergies going on around here in the allergy capitol of the world. So far so good for me and the family. I'll be praying for your surgery to go well and your problems alleviated. A few years ago i had some shoulder pai and since it radiated to my armpit I had it checked out. It turned out that I have a coracoclavicular joint that ~1% of all people have and it only shows up after age 40. I quit doing wide grip bench press and it pretty much went away. i doubt if that's what you have but you never know.
I'll also be praying for your Mom to have a fast recovery and that her spirits are quickly lifted. Also that your son has a safe trip home and will be safe when he returns.
Check out these prison articles that I'm sending, crazy stuff, unbeleivable really, what a world!
Take care,
Larry
First off let me tell you that I will be saying some serious prayers for you to have good test results, and if they are not we'll pray some more and get a lot more people involved. Let me know.
My Mom would envy your Mom not ever leaving England, I think she's always regretted it to an extent. I don't have any family there, my Mom was adopted. We do have some lifelong family friends there though. I don't know if you saw the recent vote in England where old people can't get treated because the medicine costs to much. My "Uncle" Neal, who has paid into social medicine his whole life has emphysema and they won't even qualify him to get oxygen to improve his quality of life, what a travesty of a system, I hope we don't get that here.
That's crazy that a turtle that size ended up in your back yard. I'm not a big fan of killing animals, a lot of my friends are hunters though and I like to eat the spoils. I have nothing against it if the animals are going to be used. I've met several people that like to kill for the sake of killing though, kind of twisted I think.
We just got back form Houston, (spring break). We did a Main Event night, NASA, and the Rodeo/stock show, pretty exhausting. My son couldn't stop talking about NASA, it was pretty cool. My mother-in-law lives there so we stayed with her, gladto be back in town though.
Not much else going on, I have a token March madness bracket but haven't really paid much attention this year. I'd like to see Texas or Pittsburgh win but I ended up picking Xavier to win it all. Since I'm the only one out of 25 people to pick them I should win if they do.
I hope ever think goes well for you. I'll be praying!

Thanks, we had a great weekend! The whole famliy was there (13 of us), so with five kids it was a little chaotic, but fun. My Mom was thrilled but she gets tired easily.
I certainly do talk to you more than anyone else. We have a lot in common, both Steeler fans, both Hadites, both in corrections at some point, and both Christians. I notice you spent a lot more time in England than most. My Mom is English and I was born there (Swindon). We lived there for five and a half years during my teenage years. I guess we were there at the same time and may have crossed paths at some point. I used to work at the gas station at Heyford and Croughton in 80-81, taking the old gas coupons, you may have been to young to remember that.
What's up with your arm? You haven't been manhandling the prisoners have you?
When I worked for the Del Valle Correctional Complex it was right outside of Bergstron AFB (now Austin Bergstrom International Airport). For years before, I worked on base, so sure enough one day I was shocked to see an ex coworker when I made the rounds. We both didn't acknowledge each other at first but soon he approached me. It was a little awkward, I was cordial while trying to stay professional and he correctly read that knowing me wasn't going to get him anything. I encountered a couple of other friends of friends also, but fortunately nothing more than being uncomfortable came of it.
Well I am certainly glad to have you as a friend and I enjoy talking to you and getting your emails. I hope your arm gets better and that you have a great week.
Be careful!

You have family in Birmingham? What part? I have lived in Birmingham for 18 years now. I love it lots too. If you ever come to visit your family in Birmingham drop me a line and we can say hi, perhaps.
How is Russell these days? Didn't he join the British Army?
Two of my sisters live in the States and I have one brother in Brackley and a sister who lives in Bicester. My mom and dad also live in Brackley.
We're still hanging in the 80's although we did dip into the 30's a couple of mornings. We went through our flu, strep throat stuff (my wife and kids) although it's still going around, somehow I avoided it so far.
I'm sure you don't need to hear it from me, but be careful on those motorcycles. I've seen a ton of mess from those, usually not their fault though.
When I was in corrections we had to sign a contract saying that the sheriff could fire us for any and/or no reason whatsoever. Since then they have gained civil service status, so they have a little more protection. I remember specifically though the part about not seeing any type of prisoner outside of work whether they were there when you were or not. Although it never happened when I was there, there was a fresh incident that several of the other guards talked about regularly. I guess one of their buddies couldn't live without a former prisoner and thus got fired when it was discovered. I only spent two hours covering a shortage in the female prison and it was at night so I had no interaction.
You definitely have the right stuff for what you do. Honesty and integrity will earn you all the respect you need in the long run. Those others obviously don't have that and like you said , very low self esteem to boot.
Well we're headed to Fort Worth for the weekend for my Mom's 65th. You have a great weekend!
Larry
Great to hear from you. Gosh I haven't seen you since 1984. Cool to learn that you have a Harley. I had a 1200 Sportster about 6 years ago. I have just sold my 1955 Triumph Thunderbird which I completely restored myself. I'll see if I can find any pictures on my pc and add them to my page. Hope your keeping well. I live in Birmingham now and it is a great city. Keep on biking. Take care.
Thanks for all the cool emails, I'm trying to hang with you and am sending the few I get.
I'm glad to hear your prison is going minimum security. It was the opposite when I worked there, we went maximum to help house state prisoners.
Not much going on, just enjoying the 80 degree weather.
I hope everything is going well and you're getting settled into your new place.
Later.
Larry
