Looks like you're doing pretty well for yourself; Dorough had said you were in the Northeast last time we spoke. How's the doctorate going? I'm in Master's degree hell right now myself.

What happened to your cool light-reddish -do from back in the day? You talk about a small world...Renae's entire extended family lives in Lenoir and we often drive up to Boone when we visit. I'm glad you're doing well...a far cry from the cafeteria chats and hoop dreams of CHS! Take care!

And I know what you mean about this site. I seriously don't think any of us would've found each other if it wasn't for this site. I love it. Are you and Duckie LOL able to to come to the reunion? I don't remember if I asked you that yet. You know it is that age thing.

About you: where you currently live, what has life been like since your days at UHHS/CHS?, what kind of job do you have?

Left UK in '88, and just like every other move growing up, didn't think I would miss too much until I was on the plane, and thought: man, what am I leaving behind! Moved to Northern VA, and ended up in a high school with a senior class bigger than Croughton...but, happened upon another Hadite who found her way across the ocean that summer too, Tara Engleheardt...freaked me out.

Like High School, bounced around couple of different colleges until I ended up in Boone, NC at Appalachian State. Graduated in 96 (BA: history and English) and 98 (MA in human development). In fall of 93..first semester at ASU, was in library and had Croughton letter jacket...girl comes up and asks me if its mine...it was Amy Recesso (little sis of Lara)...can you beat that. Everywhere I go...Hadites. Went to Kristin's wedding in Alabama which was the last time I saw any Hadites.

Met wife Jen in grad school and married two years later. Been working in higher education/student affairs since '98 in Baltimore and in Blacksburg at VT since 2000; she's in the biz too. She's actually funnier than I and has no filter whatsoever.

Love it here. Started PhD in 2002 (this part time thing sucks) and hope to finish next year. I do research on bias and prejudice, and teach leadership development on the side. I also go around to other campuses and speak to students about confrontation and crisis management. I love tattoos and wear bow ties everyday.

Jen and I had Aidan in 2002, and he is a blessing on this earth. Truly a wonderful kid. Everyone who meets him wants to take him home. Empathetic and smart as a whip; he's gonna give me a run for my money.

Parents (the Colonel and Dad) retired to Pinehurst NC to play golf everyday, and my mom is outside Asheville. Brother you can read about on his own stuff on this site...but please, don't call him Duckie. It only encourages him.

Hope to see as many Hadites (especially '89 celebrating 20 years) in Myrtle next year!
