Here is a recent photo of Jody with that one in a million smile I know everyone will recall. She will will be missed dearly.

Carrie you have that one right. That smile is just as bold as it was when we were all teenagers. I am so heart sick over this terrible news. Remembering all of the fun things about Jody helps. She was such a trip in Model UN and quick to offer a gracious word when you just didn't feel all that great.

The tears over this loss will dry up at some point. I just can't get over the fact that she is not on this earth any longer.

With that I have to say God Speed Jody. Those of us who knew you couldn't help but to love you.

I'm very sad to hear of her(Jody Stiely) passing. I didn't really know her that well but I do remember how nice of a person she was, especially that shining smile she has. She's in a better place now and in her fathers arms. I believe that we all have our purpose in life and Jody I'm sure has accomplished more then her share. It was a sad day on earth but a brighter day in heaven. God bless you all.

WOW! I am blown away about Jody. I have never and will never forget her infectious smile and spirit. She impacted my life a great deal in High School. I know that heaven is a better place now that Jody is there! Keep living and loving and make every moment count.. for none of us is promised tomorrow! May God Bless her family and comfort them during this great time of sorrow. Monique (Currie) McIver

I remember Jody very well, We all played Volleyball together for 3 years, She was beautiful and bright and so very kind, I met her right after we started high school as freshmen and she was always kind. I used to talk to her on the bus every weekend going to our games, Screaming Madonna songs at the top of our lungs and putting on make up and braiding our hair for the game!!! I hope she led a happy life and lived every day to the fullest. I lost contact with alot of you all over the years, i have missed you and thought about you. I wish i had told Jody, she was my friend and I will miss her.

I've heard some news on Jody:

Hi, this is what I've received from someone close to the family.

At this point, there isn't much new information. The hospital cited cause of death as "natural causes." Given some of the ailments that plagued Jody in the weeks preceding her death, (gastrointestinal / parasite, rabies vaccination, scabies medication, meds for back pain, sleep disorder, etc.,) it is quite possible that her body just couldn't handle the onslaught. And when you go to a high elevation, everything intensifies. She was in Nepal for a ski trip...

Her family is here in CA now. Once they leave this coming weekend, we (several of Jody's close friends) plan to send out an email and post some info on the FB page about how people can come together and share fond stories, celebrate her life, and hopefully, let the healing process begin.

We are all a little overwhelmed right now, but if you keep an eye on the FB page we set up in her memory, there should be some posts over the next couple of weeks. I know it isn't much comfort, but hope it helps even if a little bit.

It's with great sadness that I tell you I learned Sunday that James Norman died in Phoenix on August 3, 2006. He was a wonderful person who had a terrible illness and a very difficult life. He deserved so much more. Life's not fair. He was a wonderful friend to so many people in school and boyfriend to me. He was such an all round good guy.

James was known as "The Fly", "Shakey" during our days at CHS.

One of our own Becky Kent-Niel notified me today of the passing of James Norman.

Jim had been sick for 2 weeks. It started out as bronchitis and he had gone to the Doctor and was put on antibiotics for 10 days. His grandmother passed away and he drove to New Jersey on 10/25. On 11/1 they drove back and he was sick as a dog. I took him straight to the er when he got back. He spent a week at one hospital and they were never able to find out why his oxygen levels were so low, he was tested for the flu 4 times and all test were negative. He was transfered to another hospital on saturday and they did another flu test. It was negative. They sent his blood to the CDC in Atlanta and it finally tested positive for the Swine flu. Because his lungs were already affected by the bronchitis when he got the flu it just took over. I miss him so much, but I am so blessed to have been loved by him and he gave me 3 wonderful children that I get to see every day!!!
